Barnes-Jewish Hospital's staff is composed of full-time academic faculty and community physicians of Washington University School of Medicine, supported by a house staff of residents, interns, fellows and other medical professionals. Recognizing its excellence in nursing care, Barnes-Jewish Hospital was the first adult hospital in Missouri to be certified as a Magnet Hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Barnes-Jewish Extended Care is part of the Barnes-Jewish continuum of top ranked, compassionate care. It is a 120-bed skilled nursing facility, located at 401 Corporate Park Drive in Clayton, Missouri. Organized as a hospital-based facility, Barnes-Jewish Extended Care is under the direction of Barnes-Jewish Hospital medical staff with full support of laboratory and rehabilitation departments. Services range from minimal assistance to subacute post-hospital recovery. Our patients range from the young to the elderly, as well as post-trauma rehabilitation patients and those in need of hospice or respite care. The Housekeeping Department at BJEC is responsible for delivering a clean and safe environment of care for our patients and residents. Role Purpose Supervision of operations and activities of the Housekeeping Department.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2-5 years
  • Supervisor Experience < 2 years

Responsibilities

  • Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
  • May participate in the development of departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets and having direct responsibility for adhering to those goals. This includes responding to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
  • Schedules work assignments and ensures the schedule is adjusted and posted.
  • Responds to and prioritizes pager requests.
  • Conducts new hire department orientation, training and in-services as needed.
  • Performs regular inspections to ensure staff are following established procedures in order to meet compliance and regulatory guidelines and to provide infection control.
