Tribeca Housekeeping Supervisor
About The Position
Reporting to the Director of Housekeeping, Housekeeping Supervisors oversee the work of housekeeping staff and ensure that the hotel is kept tidy and clean. Housekeeping Supervisors enforce the compliance with safety and sanitation policies to their staff. Essential Duties: Ability to read and visually verify information in a variety of formats (e.g., small print). Must be able to stand, sit, kneel, or walk for an extended period across an entire work shift. Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Ability to move, lift, carry, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 55 pounds without assistance and in excess of 55 pounds with assistance. Ability to push and pull a loaded housekeeping cart and other work-related machinery over sloping and uneven surfaces.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years in a hotel operation supervisory or management position.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written English.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Must be flexible to work all shifts including weekends and holidays.
Nice To Haves
- Spanish speaking is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Inspect guest rooms, public areas, lobby, etc. after being cleaned to ensure quality standards.
- Act as a liaison to coordinate the efforts of Housekeeping, Engineering, Front Office and Food and Beverage.
- Run room reports and update statuses appropriately.
- Rectify room discrepancies with Front Office.
- Prepare, distribute, and communicate changes in room assignments.
- Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications.
- Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
- Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating and coaching employees.
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
