About The Position

The Housekeeping Supervisor oversees and manages a team of housekeeping and laundry staff, ensuring all areas of the community are cleaned and maintained according to established standards, including inspecting rooms and public spaces, assigning cleaning tasks, training new staff, monitoring inventory of cleaning supplies, and addressing residents and staff concerns related to cleanliness, all while upholding safety and hygiene protocols.

Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of Management, all Team Members, Residents, Vendors, and Guests.
  • Motivated and self-directed to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize a large workload and problem solve innovatively.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Share-Point and Outlook, WorxHub, MatrixCare).
  • Ability to learn new database systems.
  • Dependable and flexible, including a willingness to work in other areas of the community as needed with little or no advanced notice.
  • Strong sense of urgency and problem-solving skills and ability to be resourceful and proactive in addressing issues that may arise.
  • 3 years of relevant supervisory work experience in a Healthcare environment.
  • Ability to reach, bend, sit, stand, and lift 20-40 pounds.
  • Must have the ability to stand, walk, and /or move about for extended periods.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and schedules a variety of housekeeping and laundry duties in the residential living, assisted living, skilled nursing, and laundry areas.
  • Prepares daily and monthly work schedules and assigns tasks to team members.
  • Reviews and approves timecards, time off requests, and missed punch requests in the time system.
  • Takes inventory of stock on hand on a bi-weekly basis; orders housekeeping and laundry supplies.
  • Performs visual assessments of residential living apartments; keeps track of the need for carpet and drapery cleaning and/or replacement; inspects the quality of housekeeping work.
  • Provides departmental orientation and training.
  • Schedules the timely cleaning of remodels in residential living.
  • Supervises laundry personnel and all laundry processes.
  • Attends in-service training workshops and meetings as required.
  • Conducts work tasks safely and in compliance with the facility safety program.
  • Provides effective and courteous service to all residents, guests, and co-workers.
  • Promotes and protects the rights of each resident.
  • Supports the organization's mission, vision, and values by becoming familiar and acting in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Promotes exceptional customer service by participation in Salemtowne Shines & fulfilling the commitments & values of the program.
  • Completes annual compliance and HIPAA training and exhibits behavior as set forth by the Code of Compliance in the performance of their duties.
  • Adheres to Salemtowne’s policies and procedures regarding the compliance program of the organization and is timely in reporting any possible concerns.
  • Follows all local, state, and federal regulations as they pertain to their position.
  • Adheres to Salemtowne’s policies and procedures covering privacy and security in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
