About The Position

Assists as directed in controlling financial objectives as set out by the established labor standards for the Housekeeping/Laundry department. Directs the activities of the Housekeeping/Laundry department and furnishes daily cleaning of guestrooms and all other areas of the hotel. Schedules room attendant hours based on the number of rooms rented daily. Communicates all maintenance and repair needs to the appropriate individuals. Distributes daily workload to room attendants. Ensures good safety practices of employees and guests throughout the resort. Assists with proper emergency and security procedures. Is responsible for maintaining cleanliness. neatness and good repair of all hotel areas. Performs detailed inspection of all guestrooms (vacant, checked out, and occupied alike), instructs on necessary corrections, and rechecks to ensure corrections have been made. Assists with cleaning of unassigned rooms as a room attendant before performing room inspections of other room attendants. Provides guestroom status reports to the Front Desk and General Manager. Advises the front desk by telephone of all vacant and ready rooms as they become available. Supervises the training and motivation of the housekeeping staff. Additional duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • EDUCATION: General high school education or better preferred. Must speak. read. write and understand the primary language used in the workplace.
  • EXPERIENCE: A minimum of one year of housekeeping experience. Some supervisory experience preferred.
  • PHYSICAL: Requires bending, stooping, climbing, standing, walking, sitting, fingering, reaching, grasping, carrying, repetitive motions, visual acuity, hearing, writing, and good verbal skills. On occasion may be required to lift to 40 pounds.
