Summary Responsible for the planning, organizing, development and direction of the Housekeeping department to assure quality services are provided on a daily basis.

Requirements

  • Minimum two years supervisory experience in housekeeping or laundry
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, safety rules and operating instructions;
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence;
  • Ability to effectively present information in one on one situations and speak effectively before groups of residents, customers and employees
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
  • Must possess leadership abilities such as planning, organizing, interpretation and employee relations
  • Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs.
  • Must be able to push/pull 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the development, review, interpretation and implementation of departmental policies and procedures
  • Evaluates to determine department staffing needs, recruits, interviews and selects potential employees, and schedules staff
  • Supervises staff including delegating authority, directing, counseling, coaching and evaluating staff to provide exceptional service
  • Ensures department has appropriate, functioning, and well-maintained equipment
  • Analyzes department to determine equipment and supply needs and maintains adequate level of supplies and equipment
  • Ensures quality housekeeping services are provided including resolution of resident and customer complaints and continuous inspection
  • Serves on various committees and attends meetings representing the housekeeping department and makes/recommends changes based on feedback and reports on and implements as requested
  • Provides orientation and on-going training of housekeeping staff and ensures staff attendance at required training before performance on the job
  • Assists in budget preparation, ensures adequate records are kept, paperwork is processed and department conforms to budget
  • Follows and ensures that all housekeeping personnel follow infection control procedures, including proper hand washing, waste storage and disposal and wearing protective clothing and equipment
  • Follows all safety procedures and protocol and ensure staff follows all safety procedures and protocol as dictated by EverTrue policy, federal and state regulations, and standard housekeeping practice and corrects and/or reports all hazardous conditions, defective equipment, and accidents or incidents to supervisor immediately
