About The Position

Heads and manages the operation of the housekeeping and laundry divisions of the hotel to ensure that hotel guest rooms, public spaces, and other areas of the hotels are immaculately clean, organized, and sanitary. Ensures that housekeeping department meets high standards of quality and efficiency so that guest satisfaction is optimized.

Requirements

  • Clean driving record and valid driver’s license.
  • Safe defensive driving skills.
  • Must be able to reach all areas of hotel to assist clients.
  • Occasional carrying and lifting of items up to 40 pounds.
  • Will be required to work weekends and holidays.
  • Will be exposed to and working with household chemicals.

Responsibilities

  • Assists General Manager in recruiting, hiring, training and providing career development for housekeeping staff.
  • Inspects and manages the quality of housekeeping and laundry services provided and ensures the timeliness and efficiency of services.
  • Ensures adherence to company quality standards by inspecting rooms, including deep cleans.
  • Addresses guest complaints regarding housekeeping service or equipment.
  • Takes control of lost and found items as per company policy.
  • Schedules staff work schedules and duties according to productivity standards and forecasted occupancy; monitors staff adherence to schedules and duties.
  • Prepares reports about room occupancy, payroll, department expenses and inventories and shares data with appropriate department heads.
  • Covers shifts as necessary.
  • Fulfills Manager on Duty shifts.
  • Establishes and maintains cost control system for linen and cleaning supplies inventories; oversees the budgeting, ordering and receiving of such supplies to maintain appropriate inventory levels.
  • Provides information to guest services on the status of guest rooms to ensure accurate and timely reporting on room availability.
  • Ensures hotel is in compliance with all federal, state and local laws, including OSHA, EEOC, Wage Hour and Health laws.
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications; properly store flammable materials; follow lost & found procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
  • Assists and is present during Quality Assurance reviews administered by the franchise.
  • Conducts or assists in conducting staff meetings.
  • Reviews team member performance and conducts personnel actions when necessary with the approval of the General Manager.
  • Responsible for understanding and adhering to guidelines set forth in the team member handbook. Expected to report to work on scheduled days and at scheduled times.
  • Observes the 5x10 rule, which is to be complied with at all times. Anticipate and address guests' service needs; assist individuals with disabilities; thank guests with genuine appreciation.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
