Requirements

  • At least 3 years' of prior experience in apartment or hotel cleaning.
  • A desire to communicate with seniors a MUST.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs., bend and stand for long periods of time.
  • Specific Requirements: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals written in English.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Ability to present oneself in an orderly manner.
  • Willingness to adapt to the changing demands of this position.
  • Be helpful and polite to residents, to be understanding of their needs and respect their privacy, personal property and confidentiality.
  • Keep areas of responsibility clean, neat and organized.
  • Cooperate with and be polite to all staff, residents and visitors.

Responsibilities

  • Bedrooms /corridors /function rooms /public areas are maintained: Supervising the daily cleaning of assigned rooms, bathrooms, corridor areas and public areas to the highest standards.
  • Assign duties, inspect work, and investigate complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment and take corrective action.
  • May purchase housekeeping supplies and equipment, take periodic inventories.
  • Assigns workers their duties and inspects work for conformance to prescribed standards of cleanliness.
  • Investigates complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment, and takes corrective action.
  • Apartments to be cleaned immediately and list of prospective or discharges to prepare work assignments.
  • Coordinates work activities among departments.
