About The Position

Outbound Sedona is preparing to welcome guests in May 2026, and we are building our opening team now. We are thoughtfully hiring several months in advance to allow time for training, collaboration, and creating the culture that will define our guest experience from day one. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a resort opening and help shape the standards, service style, and team culture together. Our opening team members will play a foundational role in setting expectations, supporting one another, and creating memorable experiences for our very first guests. While the resort is scheduled to open in May 2026, selected candidates may begin onboarding and training in the months leading up to opening. Specific start dates will be discussed during the interview process. Position Summary The Housekeeping Room Inspector conducts detailed guest room and public area inspections to ensure Outbound Sedona consistently meets standards for cleanliness, sanitation, maintenance readiness, productivity, and guest satisfaction. This role helps ensure every guest arrives to a space that feels clean, fresh, safe, and welcoming, and supports the Housekeeping team through coaching, quality control, and clear communication with Housekeeping leadership and Engineering.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Strong attention to detail and consistent quality standards.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
  • Professional, guest-facing communication skills and a service-first mindset.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced resort environment.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, reach, push/pull, and lift/carry typical housekeeping supplies and linens (reasonable accommodations may be made as required by law).
  • Ability to work with cleaning chemicals and equipment using required safety procedures and PPE.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior housekeeping experience in guest rooms strongly preferred; inspection or lead experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Work all scheduled shifts reliably, arriving on time and prepared to support daily operational needs.
  • Inspect guest rooms/lodging units prior to occupancy to ensure they meet Outbound Sedona standards for: Cleanliness and sanitation Presentation and readiness Safety and maintenance condition
  • Make minor corrections as needed to bring rooms to standard (e.g., spot cleaning, touch-ups, re-stocking, rechecking details).
  • Communicate room status clearly and promptly to the Housekeeping Coordinator/Leadership (e.g., “clean/ready,” “needs re-clean,” “maintenance hold”).
  • Identify, document, and report maintenance or safety concerns; submit work orders/tickets per property process and notify the appropriate teams.
  • Document and escalate repeated or significant cleaning deficiencies to Housekeeping leadership.
  • Support onboarding and ongoing training by providing real-time feedback, coaching, and follow-up training tied to inspection findings.
  • Assist with general housekeeping cleaning tasks during peak occupancy or staffing needs, which may include: Making beds, cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming, dusting, mopping, spot cleaning, and restocking supplies
  • Assist with inspections/cleaning in public spaces and resort areas as needed, such as: Lobbies, corridors, restrooms, back-of-house areas, fitness/recreation spaces, or other designated areas at Outbound Sedona
  • Follow all property policies, procedures, and safety guidelines, including proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the operation.
