About The Position

Job Summary To maintain the cleanliness and the appearance of guest accommodations and public space. The Room Attendant will ensure he/she meets all brand or hotel standards in the rooms and public spaces. Duties and Responsibilities Receive list of assigned rooms from supervisor. Prioritize rooms based on direction from supervisor or as noted on list. Follow sign in/out procedures for key to access rooms. Check the inventory of cleaning cart and add any necessary supplies. Knock and announce self before entering room; return at a later time if rooms are occupied. Upon entry, immediately notify the supervisor of any damage or strong odor to the room. Immediately notify the supervisor of suspicious activity. Remove linens, towels, bedspreads, and blankets from each assigned room and provide fresh replacements. Follow appropriate protocol for checkouts versus stayovers. Neatly make beds and stock towels, washcloths, and hand towels according to policies. Thoroughly clean and disinfect bathroom and kitchenette or coffee-preparation areas according to hotel policies. Disinfect all surfaces, to include all high-touch items; wall and lamp switches, thermostat, door handles, telephone, TV remote(s), etc. Clean mirrors, glass and dust pictures and other objects in the room. Vacuum floors and remove trash. Check complimentary coffee, snacks, and toiletry supplies in the room, restocking according to the provided hotel checklist and policy. Ensure the room meets hotel and brand standards with a final walkaround. Notify the supervisor of found items and bring to lost and found if the guest has checked out. Notify supervisor of rollaways or cribs in rooms for pickup and storage. Notify supervisor of room availability. Ensure soiled linens are provided to laundry timely. Notify the maintenance department of needed maintenance or repairs based on hotel processes. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Detail-oriented and thorough.
  • Ability to remain discreet and respect the privacy of guests.
  • Ability to perform consistent work to the highest of standards.
  • Ability to interact with guests in a pleasant, friendly way.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in basic English preferred.
  • Sufficient education and literacy needed to identify and read product labels and to communicate with guests about job-related needs..
  • Ability to be flexible and work weekends, holidays and be scheduled any days of the week.
  • Weekends are required.

Nice To Haves

  • Other languages in addition to English is a plus.
