About The Position

The Jefferson Hotel, a celebrated Five Diamond property in Richmond, VA, is seeking a dependable and team-oriented Housekeeping Houseman to join our Housekeeping Department. This essential role supports the efficiency of our guest room cleaning operations and ensures public, and guest areas meet the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation. The ideal candidate is hardworking, courteous, and committed to supporting a luxury-level guest experience.

Requirements

• Must be available to work any day of the week, including weekends and holidays. Must be flexible to work between: 7:00 AM – 11:00 PM, with daily schedules subject to change.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50+ lbs., stand and walk for extended periods, and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Must be collaborative and willing to support multiple areas within the hotel.
• Must have a courteous and professional attitude when interacting with guests and team members.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Ability to follow instructions, prioritize tasks, and work independently or in a team setting.
• Friendly, professional demeanor with a guest-first mindset.
• Reliable, punctual, and adaptable to changing workloads and assignments.

Responsibilities

• Deliver linens, amenities, and housekeeping supplies to assigned floors and guest rooms.
• Perform routine cleaning of guest hallways and furniture, storage closets, service areas stairwells, and elevators.
• Preform periodic cleaning of the chandeliers.
• Assist with stocking housekeeping supplies and organizing storage areas on designated delivery days.
• Respond promptly to guest requests for additional items or support, ensuring follow-through.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in assigned public and back-of-house areas.
• Report any maintenance issues, lost and found items, or safety concerns to the appropriate departments.
• Support special cleaning projects or emergency cleaning needs assigned by supervisors.
• Learn how to make beds, roll-aways, and sofa beds.
