Requirements

  • Master's Degree in related field - Preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree or 4 years' work related experience - Required
  • 3 years with leadership experience in hospital EVS service operations management - Required
  • 5 years Computer Operation and Data Base systems & Bilingual - Preferred
  • Driver License - Required

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, direction and management oversight for continuous improvement of the standard EVS operating model within the facility.
  • Manage the day to day operations of the department and ensure a consistently high level of cleanliness and aesthetics to patients, visitors and staff.
  • Attract, develop, and train talent to ensure program quality, sustainability, long-term growth, and development.
  • Ensure all aspects of departmental operations function in a compliant, optimal and efficient manner that ensures patient and customer satisfaction.
  • Act as liaison to departments and areas to ensure expedient response to patient and customer concerns.
  • Make daily rounds to inspect environmental cleanliness and customer satisfaction.
  • Schedule staff and ensure proper coverage and cross-training.
  • Communicate with team members regularly both formally and informally, hold team meetings weekly and may hold pre-service meetings daily.
  • Evaluate and make recommendations for environmental hygiene maintenance for new floor coverings, wall coverings, furnishings, and interior finishes prior to purchase.
  • Manage departmental budgets (e.g., capital, projects, supplies, operations).
  • Ensure regulated medical waste is handled, packaged, stored, and disposed of in accordance with federal and state regulations.
  • Complete all human resources responsibilities for interviewing, hiring, managing, staff development, corrective actions and/or staff engagement needs.
  • Manage all quality improvement initiatives regarding training, auditing, inspecting, rounding, and making recommendations as needed.
  • Collaborate with the EVS director to establish dashboard metrics to track operations and improvement initiatives.
  • Promote a culture of safety, hand hygiene, patient experience, as well as employee engagement and retention.
  • Coordinate scheduling and oversee subcontractors and vendors.
  • Supervise and/or perform on-call emergency services when needed.
  • Compose general and technical reports.
  • Establish self as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) within environmental services, regulatory compliance, and training.
