About The Position

The Housekeeping Attendant position at The Ritz-Carlton, a Marriott International brand, is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and order of guest rooms and public areas to deliver exceptional guest experiences. This role involves promptly responding to requests from guests and other departments, preparing and transporting supply carts, and meticulously cleaning guest rooms. Specific duties include following procedures for gaining room access, replacing guest amenities and supplies, changing dirty linens and terry with clean items, making beds, cleaning bathrooms, and removing trash and room service items. Attendants are also expected to check that all appliances are present and in working order, straighten desk items, furniture, and appliances, dust, polish, remove marks from surfaces, and perform vacuuming and floor care duties in guest rooms and hallways. The role requires strict adherence to all company safety and security policies and procedures, including reporting maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries, completing safety training, and properly storing flammable materials. Maintaining a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance, along with confidentiality of proprietary information, is essential. A key aspect of the role is guest interaction, which involves welcoming and acknowledging all guests according to company standards, anticipating and addressing their service needs, assisting individuals with disabilities, and thanking guests with genuine appreciation, all while using clear and professional language. Teamwork is emphasized to reach common goals and ensure adherence to quality expectations. Physically, the position demands the ability to move, lift, carry, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance and in excess of 25 pounds with assistance. It also requires pushing and pulling a loaded housekeeping cart and other work-related equipment over sloping and uneven surfaces, reaching overhead and below the knees (including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping), standing, sitting, kneeling, or walking for an extended period across an entire work shift, and grasping, turning, and manipulating objects of varying size and weight requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly to requests from guests and other departments.
  • Fill cart with supplies and transport cart to assigned area.
  • Enter guest rooms following procedures for gaining access and ensuring vacancy before entering.
  • Replace guest amenities and supplies in rooms.
  • Replace dirty linens and terry with clean items.
  • Make beds and fold terry.
  • Clean bathrooms.
  • Remove trash, dirty linen, and room service items.
  • Check that all appliances are present in the room and in working order.
  • Straighten desk items, furniture, and appliances.
  • Dust, polish, and remove marks from walls and furnishings.
  • Vacuum carpets and performs floor care duties (e.g., in guest rooms and hallway).
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures.
  • Report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries.
  • Complete safety training and certifications.
  • Properly store flammable materials.
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
