This position contributes to the Hospital’s mission by cleaning non-inpatient areas and completing environmental related projects throughout the hospital. This staff position will have an impact on patient and family members’ satisfaction as the cleanliness of the hospital directly impacts people’s perception of the organization and thoroughly cleaning surfaces is a key step toward infection control and prevention. As part of the Guest Services/Environmental Services team, this role involves cleaning all areas of the hospital, including patient rooms, medication and storage areas, hallways, staff areas, waiting areas, utility rooms, and restrooms. The associate will perform various cleaning processes, operate equipment, and maintain a professional demeanor while interacting with customer groups. Specific duties include thorough cleaning of hard surfaces, carpets, and upholstery, setting up for events, communicating with the Service Response Center, and handling regulated medical waste following infectious control procedures. The role also involves special cleaning for sterile field areas in Surgical Services and requires flexibility in meeting patient and hospital needs.
