About The Position

The Housekeeping Associate at Wheeler Mission Ministries is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the shelter and resident facilities for individuals experiencing homelessness. The associate will perform various cleaning and maintenance tasks, ensuring that all areas of the facility are well-kept and functional.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1+ years of successful, recent work experience in a similar role.
• Ability to understand basic cleaning instructions and standards.
• Demonstrated high standards for cleaning and dependability.
• Valid Indiana Driver's License and ability to be insured by the organization's auto-insurance policy.

Nice To Haves

• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including email, Word, and SharePoint.
• Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning and sanitation of floors, restrooms, shower rooms, and windows.
• Handle laundry duties, including washing bed linens.
• Clean the exterior of facilities, including snow removal as needed.
• Conduct general maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs and making minor repairs.
• Report any facility issues or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor.
• Assist in the supervision of volunteers when required.
