This position is responsible for maintaining established standards for general cleaning, which include mopping, vacuuming, disinfecting, trash removal, and changing linens. The role involves documenting assignment completion and safety hazards, stocking supplies, and participating in staff and guest relations. Essential functions include cleaning patient rooms and changing linen upon discharge, dusting and scrubbing patient rooms, ancillary areas, operating rooms, and lounges. The aide also cleans bath and shower areas, changes curtains as needed, removes trash from the building, mops and washes floors and walls, and responds to emergency calls for unplanned clean-ups. Further duties involve vacuuming floors, stocking clean and soiled utility rooms, isolation cupboards, carts, and dispensers, replenishing soap and paper supplies, removing soiled linen from hampers, cleaning equipment and carts for the following shift, and restocking the housekeeping closet. The role requires completing daily work sheets, reporting safety hazards and/or needed repairs, cleaning offices, assisting in training new staff, performing other department-related duties as assigned, and collecting medical and pharmaceutical waste.
