About The Position

The Housekeeping Aide is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and condition of assigned areas meet designated standards, identifying and reporting maintenance issues, and maintaining cleaning equipment. Key duties include completing required paperwork, responding promptly to guest and front desk requests, and assisting management with various HR functions such as hiring, training, and scheduling. The role requires adherence to company and safety policies, maintaining a professional appearance, ensuring confidentiality, and protecting company assets. The aide is expected to welcome and acknowledge guests, anticipate their service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and foster positive working relationships with colleagues. The position involves significant physical demands, including lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, standing, and walking for extended periods, as well as using computers and point-of-sale systems.   • Ability to stand, sit, kneel, or walk for an extended period across an entire work shift.
  • Ability to grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to enter and locate work-related information using computers and/or point of sale systems.
  • Ability to visually verify and interpret written documents.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Less than 1-year related work experience.
  • No supervisory experience.
  • No license or certification.

Responsibilities

  • Use checklists to ensure that cleanliness and condition of each assigned area meets designated standards.
  • Identify and report preventative or other maintenance issues in public areas or guest rooms.
  • Request preventative maintenance or non-urgent repairs using appropriate method.
  • Contact other departments directly for urgent repairs.
  • Clean, maintain, and store cleaning equipment.
  • Document and report outstanding issues.
  • Complete required Housekeeping paperwork.
  • Respond promptly to requests from guests, Front Desk, or At Your Service requests.
  • Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating and coaching employees.
  • Serve as a role model.
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures.
