The Housekeeping Aide position is part of the Environmental Services Department and is a full-time role working 80 hours per two-week pay period, primarily on the first shift. This role follows standard participation in a weekend rotation and holiday responsibilities. The Housekeeping Aide plays a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Requirements

  • High school education preferred
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English and perform basic math
  • Able to follow oral and written directions accurately
  • Physical ability to perform housekeeping tasks and operate cleaning equipment
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety procedures
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills with a focus on customer service and confidentiality
  • Professional, dependable, and able to prioritize tasks effectively

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in hospital cleaning techniques preferred, but training is available
  • Floor care experience preferred (stripping, refinishing, buffing)

Responsibilities

  • Perform general housekeeping tasks to maintain assigned hospital areas in sanitary and orderly condition
  • Strip, refinish, and buff floors using floor-cleaning equipment
  • Sort, fold, mend, and distribute clean linen
  • Stock linen closets and supply carts as needed
  • Weigh and track both clean and soiled linen
  • Retrieve soiled linen and prepare for pickup by laundry service
  • Support the Environmental Services team with additional duties as assigned
