About The Position

The Housekeeper position at Leisure Living is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for residents in a senior living community. This role involves a variety of cleaning tasks, ensuring that both resident rooms and common areas are kept to high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. The Housekeeper will also promote positive relationships with residents and staff, contributing to a supportive community atmosphere.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED required.
• Demonstrable knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office in a Windows environment.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work with minimal supervision.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Professional telephone etiquette and customer service skills.
• Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a housekeeping or cleaning role.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies.

Responsibilities

• Clean, disinfect and straighten resident rooms, work areas and common spaces according to cleaning schedule.
• Clean carpets, furniture and draperies with vacuum cleaner or shampooer.
• Sweep, scrub and polish hard floors using broom, mop or power scrubber.
• Scrub and disinfect sinks, tubs, toilets and bathing rooms.
• Dust and polish furniture and metalwork.
• Wash windows, sills and doors.
• Clean and disinfect spills and soiled areas as needed or directed.
• Deep clean according to schedule.
• Move and straighten furniture.
• Maintain cleanliness of unoccupied rooms to make them attractive for resident occupancy.
• Empty wastebaskets and properly dispose of trash.
• Collect, wash, dry, fold and distribute laundry as directed.
• Ensure equipment is stored properly.
• Promote positive relationships with residents, staff and visitors.
