About The Position

Memorial Hospital Belleville/Shilo is seeking a Housekeeper to join their team. This role involves providing a reassuring presence while cleaning patient rooms throughout the hospital. The hospital is an acute care facility offering medical and surgical services, critical and emergency care, including pediatric emergency care at Children’s at Memorial. Memorial Hospital Belleville is an accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI and designated as an Acute Stroke Ready Hospital. It has been Magnet®-recognized for nursing excellence since 2008. Memorial Hospital Shiloh, a 94-bed, all-private suite hospital, also holds Magnet status since 2018 and provides emergency care, labor & delivery, nursery, medical and surgical services, plus critical care. The Housekeeper is an environmental services worker responsible for daily housekeeping services as assigned, following hospital or service organization procedures.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine janitorial and cleaning activities in patient, public and common areas using prescribed, established cleaning process.
• Performs discharge cleaning process in inpatient rooms and prepares room for next admission.
• Performs room set up and changes as needed, including changing linens, cleaning, mopping and furnishing.
• Keeps equipment clean and functional according to procedure.
• Notifies supervisor or manager of any equipment, furniture, or building fixtures that are in need of maintenance.
