Housekeeper Job Title: Housekeeper Division: Multifamily Status: Non-Exempt JOB SUMMARY: The Porter/Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness and appearance of the property’s buildings and grounds. This includes daily upkeep of common areas, leasing offices, amenities, and vacant apartment homes. The role plays a key part in supporting property operations by ensuring a welcoming and market-ready environment for residents and visitors.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in housekeeping, janitorial services, or cleaning preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently.
  • Must be customer-service oriented with the ability to interact professionally with residents.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines.
  • Valid driver’s license required (for operating golf carts if applicable).
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, carry objects, and use ladders.
  • Capable lifting up to 25 pounds independently and 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Clean and maintain the leasing office, clubhouse, model units, laundry rooms, and other amenities/common areas on a daily basis or as scheduled.
  • Ensure vacant units and designated show apartments are kept clean, freshened, and odor-free to maintain market-ready conditions.
  • Assist with the make-ready process for vacant units as directed by the Service Manager, Community Manager, or Assistant Manager.
  • Maintain an adequate inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment and notify the supervisor when reorders are needed.
  • Respond courteously and efficiently to all resident, guest, and team interactions.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and report any hazardous or potentially dangerous conditions affecting residents, staff, or visitors.
  • Care for and maintain all janitorial equipment and property-assigned tools.
