About The Position

Position is responsible for the cleanliness of assigned areas, offices, building facilities or other residential space associated with a business unit for WashU. Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Daily responsibilities include the cleaning of areas such as entryways, restrooms, other common areas, including stairwells, hallways, laundry areas, etc. and, as determined by your business unit, occupied or vacant residential units, dining facilities or other building space. This includes, but is not limited to, dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, wiping down flat surfaces, cleaning glass, taking out trash, replacing linens or other supplies, and other custodial/housekeeping duties as assigned. Frequency of housekeeping duties may also fluctuate with the academic year. Daily communication with housekeeping supervisor is crucial to relay any issues associated with an assignment, a building or space, occupant concerns, or other building needs including supplies and equipment. Report noticeable maintenance issues to your immediate supervisor or other designated contact; report any suspicious person to Campus Police; follow the rules and regulations of WashU in St. Louis. Perform other duties as assigned. Working Conditions: Job Location/Working Conditions Will be working in scattered site ‘off-campus’ buildings. Occasional seasonal weekend shifts may be required. Physical Effort Frequently bends, kneels and squats throughout the day. Requires candidates to be on their feet most of the day. Must be physically fit and capable of lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs. to waist level. Equipment Some exposure to dust/allergens, and use of various cleaning agents/chemicals. Requirements

  • A diploma, certification or degree is not required.
  • No specific certification/professional license is required for this position.
  • No specific work experience is required for this position.
  • A Class E (MO) or Class D (IL) license and a good driving record are required for this position.
  • Must be physically fit and capable of lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs. to waist level.
