About The Position

The Archdiocese of St. Louis strives to teach and share our faith, serve others, and foster unity throughout the St. Louis area. Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis. Job Summary The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment. This role performs routine cleaning tasks, restocking, and light maintenance to ensure all assigned areas meet quality and sanitation standards. The Housekeeper plays an essential part in creating a welcoming and comfortable space for residents, guests, or staff.

Requirements

  • Previous housekeeping or custodial experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, standing, and moving for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness standards.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to follow instructions, safety procedures, and cleaning protocols.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays if needed.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize rooms, bathrooms, common areas, and workspaces.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and polish surfaces as needed.
  • Replace linens, towels, and supplies; restock cleaning and hygiene materials.
  • Empty trash receptacles and properly dispose of waste.
  • Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or needed repairs.
  • Follow established cleaning schedules and maintain attention to detail.
  • Use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and according to guidelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness of carts, storage areas, and equipment.
  • Interact with residents/guests courteously and respectfully while performing duties.
