About The Position

The Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, sanitizing, and the general appearance of their scheduled area. The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining all regulated housekeeping and Infection Control Standards.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of one year related work experience
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions and communicate in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Ability to make standard precaution decisions.
  • Ability to address patients, visitors, and co-workers with courtesy, pleasantness and respect.

Responsibilities

  • Performs adequate and thorough disinfecting and sanitizing procedures of all horizontal surfaces.
  • Removes/prevents build up on the floors and around the perimeters.
  • Removes biohazard and general garbage from rooms/areas according to policy.
  • Performs adequate bathroom cleaning and sanitation requirements.
  • Performs unit discharge cleaning appropriately and in a timely manner.
  • Removes visible debris from carpeted areas when necessary.
  • Maintains communication with supervisor for area and/or departmental needs or concerns.
  • Uses personal protective equipment as necessary.
  • Follows established room-cleaning guidelines for all areas.
