About The Position

The Housekeeper plays a vital role in maintaining cleanliness, order, and a welcoming environment within residential or commercial settings. This position ensures that all assigned areas are cleaned thoroughly and efficiently, adhering to established standards and protocols. The Housekeeper contributes to the overall comfort and satisfaction of occupants or guests by performing a variety of cleaning tasks with attention to detail. This role requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, managing time effectively to complete daily assignments. Ultimately, the Housekeeper supports the health, safety, and aesthetic quality of the environment, enhancing the overall experience for all who use the space.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write and communicate with people and follow instructions.
  • Must be able to push carts, equipment, and supplies to all areas of facility.
  • Must be able to lift trash and linen weighing from 25 to 35 lbs.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop and climb.
  • Must be able to use mops, brooms, vacuums, wall washing equipment and high dusting equipment, which would require working below waist level up to over head level.
  • Must be able to see at 20/40 corrected in each eye.
  • Walk within the facility approximately three (3) miles per 8 hr. shift.
  • Know and abide by the general provisions of 42 CFR Part 2, “Confidentiality of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Patient Records”; and 45 CFR “Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act”. This position has restricted access to patient health information.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize patient rooms, restrooms, tubs and showers, day rooms.
  • Clean offices, classrooms, public areas, laundry rooms, and nurses’ stations.
  • Clean all fixtures and accessories in all areas.
  • Vacuum and spot clean all carpeted areas.
  • Sweep and mop all tile and concrete areas.
  • Pull trash.
  • Replenish paper towels, soap, toilet paper and liquid soap, as needed.
  • Water shrubs and plants inside the facility.
  • Issue linens and ensure adequate linen supply by taking regular inventories.
  • Monitor inventory of housekeeping chemicals and supplies and report to Supervisor.
  • Must be able to work in a cooperative manner with co-worker, managers, clients and prospective clients.
  • Must be able to work in constant state of alertness as to perform the job in a safe manner.
  • Regular attendance.
  • Perform other duties as requested by supervisor.
