The Housekeeper performs terminal cleaning of rooms after patients are discharged, and also cleans nursing units, surgical areas, offices, labs, waiting areas, and public restrooms. The role involves various cleaning duties and requires competency in the proper usage, disposal, and safety measures for cleaning chemicals. Responsibilities
- Perform terminal cleaning of rooms after patients are discharged
- Clean nursing units, surgical areas, offices, labs, waiting areas and public restrooms
- Make beds
- Empty trash
- Wipe equipment
- Clean furniture
- Polish floors
- Vacuum carpets
- Clean restrooms
- Launder hospital linen
- Conduct daily inspection and inventory of housekeeping equipment
- Demonstrate competency in the proper usage, disposal and safety measures required for cleaning chemicals
