About The Position

Clean patient rooms nursing stations, surgical areas, administrative areas, lab, waiting areas and rest rooms. Launder some hospital and long term care linens. Prepare the linens that are to be sent to the contracted laundry service. Wipe down equipment, clean furniture, polish floors and vacuum carpets. Make beds, empty trash and collect dirty laundry. Follow safety guidelines for chemical use in the facility. Follow guidelines for hazardous materials handling. Follow procedures and protocols for proper sanitization per regulation standards regarding body fluids and contagions to prevent contamination. Respond to emergencies in relation to cleaning hospital environment.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels.
  • The ability to maintain an open mind to the acquisition of new skills and knowledge while on the job, especially the use of chemicals and understanding of basic safety procedures.
  • Ability to perform simple mathematical equations.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Mathematical skills needed to mix cleaning agents appropriately in accordance with the prescription of the manufacturer
  • Requires standing, sitting or walking for up to 8 hours or longer per day.
  • The ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • High school diploma or GED.
