Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods of time
  • Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of objects up to 25–40 pounds
  • Ability to step stools to reach high surfaces
  • Repetitive motion tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and wiping
  • Use of hands and arms to operate cleaning equipment and tools
  • Comfortable working in a variety of environments (e.g., dorms, offices, restrooms, outdoor walkways)
  • Must be able to perform tasks in both hot and cold conditions, depending on building and weather

Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, classrooms, offices, residence halls, lounges, and common areas
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust floors, carpets, and surfaces
  • Empty trash and recycling containers and replace liners
  • Refill supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper
  • Clean windows, mirrors, glass doors, and other surfaces
  • Report maintenance issues (e.g., plumbing, lighting, or damage) to appropriate personnel
  • Perform deep cleaning during academic breaks or as scheduled
  • Maintain cleanliness in dining areas and event spaces before and after functions
  • Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Secure buildings and rooms after cleaning, as necessary
  • Assist with moving furniture or setting up spaces for events, meetings, or campus activities
  • Support special projects such as summer turnover cleaning in residence halls
