Also performs discharge cleaning as needed. Schedule: Per-Diem 16 hours, evenings. 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm, Saturday- Sunday, and rotating Holidays

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent preferred.
  • Must have the ability to understand and converse in English at a level that allows safe, efficient performance of the job.
  • Be able to lift 25-50 pounds.
  • Requires physical demands, ability to stand for long periods, bending, stooping, and lifting
  • Competent in using proper chemicals for proper tasks
  • Ability to learn and demonstrate new procedures related to the healthcare industry

Responsibilities

  • Performs the 8-step cleaning procedures, daily cleaning, discharge cleaning, bed making, wall spots, toilet cleaning, high and low dusting, and O.R. terminal cleaning.
  • Completes work from previous shift if needed, reports all incomplete assignments and maintenance issues.
  • Cleans up all organic body waste, i.e. blood and body fluids, feces, sputum, etc. as instructed by the supervisor or team leader.
  • Hangs cubical curtains, shower curtains, and window curtains Up on discharge cleaning, disinfect and/or sanitize I.V. poles, pumps, and other patient equipment.
  • Performs all Environmental Services-related tasks and demonstrates the ability to follow department guidelines related to the work.
  • Performs basic and heavier cleaning functions in assigned areas following established schedules and using prescribed methods.
  • Cleans patient equipment as requested by the supervisor including beds and all room furnishings.
  • Assists in manpower support for office and/or related moves, special conference room set-ups, and any other occasions as required.
  • Ability to perform cleaning of emergency spills when observed and/or upon request.
