Requirements

  • A genuine interest in the well-being of patients and the cleanliness of the healthcare environment.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate respectfully with patients and staff.
  • Capability to perform manual labor, including mopping, scrubbing, and safely climbing ladders.
  • Consistent attendance and the ability to participate in rotating call shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and disinfect patient areas, bathrooms, and showers daily. Utilize scrubbing and spraying techniques to maintain a sterile, safe environment.
  • Sweep, dust mop, and wet mop hospital hallways, waiting rooms, offices, and entrances. Clean rugs, carpets, and upholstered furniture as needed.
  • Dust furniture, polish metalwork, and wipe down walls, woodwork, windows, and sills (safely utilizing ladders when necessary).
  • Empty and reline wastebaskets and transport waste to disposal areas efficiently. Ensure exterior entrances remain spotless by picking up litter and emptying bins.
  • Distribute freshly laundered linens to ensure patient comfort. Replenish bathroom supplies and keep your work cart fully stocked.
  • Carefully prepare and use chemical cleaning solutions with proper labeling. Promptly report any faulty equipment or unusual problems to leadership.
  • Disinfect all cleaning equipment at the end of each shift to uphold our high hygiene standards.
  • Organize utility and storage rooms, assist with moving furniture or equipment as directed, and participate in a rotating call schedule as assigned.
