Housekeeper
About The Position
The incumbent Housekeeper will gradually assume the position of caretaker of the building and facilities, with the feeling of responsibility of their well-being similar to that which he/she has for his/her own personal possessions. The person who will assume the position of Housekeeper is accepting a very important role in the functioning of our institution. The Housekeeper will not only be working with maintenance, cleaning, and care, but he/she will be working with students and support staff. Concern shown by friendliness and helpfulness will fit into the framework of the goals our department. There is a need for the Housekeeper to understand that we provide a service to the entire campus community, providing students and staff with a clean, sanitary and safe environment to learn and work. They usually are open to suggestions and will cooperate with attempts to be helpful. The Housekeeper is under the supervision of the custodial managers and supervisors.
Nice To Haves
- Ability to carry 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, bend, reach, climb stairs, use ladder to perform tasks for seven productive hours daily.
- Ability to work independently or as a team.
- Ability to understand, communicate and receive verbal or written instruction in English.
- Commercial cleaning experience.
- Familiarity and experience operating but not limited to: ride on auto scrubbers, ride on burnishers, walk behind auto scrubbers, walk behind burnishers, window cleaning equipment (squeegee, power washer, extension pole cleaners), side by side floor scrubbers, hand operated burnisher, and mechanized carpet cleaning equipment.
- Experience with APPA’S levels of clean.
- Knowledge of and experience practicing ISSA custodial standards.
