Requirements

Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred, especially in healthcare or senior living environments
Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision
Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
Good communication skills and a professional attitude
Ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods
Flexibility to work PRN (as needed) schedule, including weekends and holidays

Responsibilities

Perform thorough cleaning of patient rooms, including beds, furniture, and fixtures.
Ensure surfaces, floors, and walls are clean, sanitized, and free from debris, stains, or odors.
Follow strict infection control procedures, including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to hand hygiene protocols.
Pay special attention to high-touch surfaces and areas to minimize the risk of healthcare-associated infections.
Handle and dispose of medical waste, trash, and soiled linens in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory guidelines.
Maintain proper separation and containment of different types of waste.
Collect, sort, and launder linens, including bed sheets, towels, gowns, and blankets.
Ensure an adequate supply of clean and folded linens is available for patient use.
Clean and maintain public areas such as waiting rooms, lobbies, corridors, and restrooms.
Regularly restock supplies, including paper towels, soap, and toilet paper.
Monitor and restock housekeeping supplies, including cleaning agents, disinfectants, and equipment.
Report any shortages or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor promptly.
Assist during emergency situations, such as spills, accidents, or natural disasters, by promptly cleaning up and disinfecting affected areas.
Communicate effectively with nursing staff, maintenance personnel, and other hospital departments to address housekeeping needs and ensure a coordinated approach to maintaining cleanliness and safety.
Follow hospital safety protocols and ensure that housekeeping equipment and materials are stored securely and used safely.
Report any safety hazards or security concerns to the appropriate personnel.
Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulations, including HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) guidelines, to maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
Seek opportunities for professional development, stay updated on best practices in healthcare housekeeping, and actively participate in training programs or workshops provided by the hospital.
