Housekeepers at the Center for the Arts must work independently and as a part of a team to maintain the cleanliness of the Center for the Arts building and grounds and ensure an aesthetically pleasing, clean, sanitary, and safe environment in a variety of spaces including lobbies, theater and other public event areas, performance support areas, restrooms, offices, classrooms, and research studios. Housekeepers must regularly use critical thinking to prioritize their own workload with minimal supervision, making real-time decisions to ensure the facility meets standards before, during, and after events. Standard duties include, but are not limited to, floor cleaning, dusting, mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, window cleaning, gathering and removing trash, leaf blowing, and snow and ice removal from steps and sidewalks. Housekeepers must also anticipate and adapt to changing conditions while proactively adjusting priorities in real time in response to performances and events in this dynamic facility. Housekeepers are expected to safely and properly operate powered and manual equipment, follow health and safety procedures, monitor supplies inventory, and report needed building repairs, damages, and unsafe conditions. Housekeepers are expected to work a varying schedule, including day, evening, and weekend hours.
