About The Position

Position Summary: To perform cleaning functions in assigned area. To maintain a sanitary, attractive, and orderly condition of the hospital.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in institutional cleaning preferred.
• Able to perform routine and repetitive duties.
• Neat and clean personal appearance at all times.
• Express concern for detailed cleaning.
• Must be able tomunicate effectively in English, to ensure the safety, security, and efficiency of the operation as well as to the hospital business needs (patients, doctors, staff, or patient family).
• Must have the ability to adapt to changing priorities and respond to emergencies.
• Long periods of standing, climbing, stooping, walking, and lifting throughout working day.
• Visual ability to detect cleanliness.
• Possible exposure to hazardous chemicals.
• Possible exposure tobustible chemicals.
• Possible exposure to infectious diseases.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning functions in assigned area.
• Maintain a sanitary, attractive, and orderly condition of the hospital.
• Perform variety of duties to include dry and wet mopping, waste removal, wall and window washing and floor care procedures.
• Work in special areas such as Surgery, Labor and Delivery, Nursery, Isolation Rooms, or Intensive Care Units.
