About The Position

A housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, comfortable and tidy environment  in hotel guest rooms. They perform a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, dusting and polishing. They ensure all rooms are cared for and inspected according to standards.

Requirements

• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to handle emergency and stressful situations like resolving customer conflicts
• Ability to make quick decisions
• Ability to create a positive and welcoming customer experience

Responsibilities

• Clean and tidy all areas of establishment, primarily guest rooms
• Sweep, mop and vacuum floors
• Dust and polish furniture and fixtures
• Clean and sanitize bathrooms and kitchens
• Make beds and change linens as required
• Empty trash bins and dispose of waste appropriately
• Restock supplies such as toiletries and cleaning products
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards
• Help with laundry and general cleaning
• Adhere to health and safety regulations
