About The Position

A busy, welcoming family in New York City seeks an experienced part-time live-out housekeeper. The schedule will be Mondays and Tuesdays, 8am-6pm and a little flexibility around occasional weekend or evening help would be much appreciated. There will be a handover period during the second week of March, with the successful candidate starting in early April. The family has extremely high standards and is seeking a candidate who understands the requirements of a reasonably formal household and takes pride in maintaining a beautifully kept home.

Requirements

The ideal candidate is a trained, career housekeeper with a high level of attention to detail.
Candidates should be:
Meticulous, organized, and proactive
Comfortable meeting high standards around cleanliness, laundry care, and household order
Very experienced working in private family homes
Highly detail-oriented and thorough with cleaning and household upkeep
Naturally organized and comfortable implementing systems
Accustomed to working in a family environment with children
Warm, respectful, calm, and professional
Comfortable in a live-in role and seeking a long-term position
Discreet, reliable and consistent

Responsibilities

General housekeeping to include vacuuming, mopping, dusting, tidying, and organising the main areas of the home
Household laundry and ironing
Receiving and returning parcels and deliveries
Dealing with contractors and vendors when required
Regular changing of bedlinen and towels
Daily cleaning of bathrooms
Supporting the PA/HM with online ordering for supplies and groceries
Regular inventory check for all grocery items, cleaning supplies, and any other relevant household items
Some watering of a small kitchen garden when required
