About The Position

We are seeking a full-time Housekeeper for our campus located in Norfolk, VA. The Housekeeper role performs duties as assigned to maintain the buildings in a clean and sanitary condition. Duties include but are not limited to the following: cleaning walls, floors, woodwork, windows, doors, furniture, light fixtures, restrooms and bedrooms using standard housekeeping techniques and industry standards for cleaning. Schedule: Monday- Thursday 1:30 pm - 10:00 pm, Sunday 7:30 am - 4:00 pm Qualities for Success We met with our residents to learn what characteristics and qualities they value most in staff. They shared that the most important quality is empathy. Residents also emphasized the importance of staff who remain level-headed and calm under pressure, as this helps them feel safe. The third quality they identified was professionalism and trustworthiness, which builds a strong foundation of respect and reliability. Finally, residents shared that having staff who are consistent and dedicated to supporting them makes a meaningful difference in their experience.

Requirements

Minimum of 1 year experience in the housekeeping field
Must be able to lift/push 25 pounds
Demonstrated ability to follow directions
Ability to work with minimal supervision

Responsibilities

Perform housekeeping duties as defined in policy and/or as directed by the Director of Maintenance
Remove trash from all receptacles daily
Collect any infectious waste in containers after each use, sanitize, replace new bag and dispose in designated storage area
Inventory cart and replace housekeeping supplies as needed
Wash and dry linens
Perform other duties as assigned
