About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY: The housekeeper is responsible for a wide variety of housekeeping tasks within the Motherhouse/Novitiate complex. This includes general housekeeping tasks such as daily and routine cleaning of offices, private quarters, and common areas. Persons in this position also participate in project cleaning activities such as stripping and waxing floors, project cleaning entire rooms/areas and carpet cleaning. On a rotating basis, will also perform as a laundry worker and on the telephone switchboard.

Requirements

• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions when following work assignments, to read in order to interpret labels when preparing cleaning solutions and efficiently follow Supervisor's work orders.
• Interpersonal skills necessary in order to be courteous to the Sisters, visitors, and personnel when performing housekeeping tasks.
• Analytical skills necessary in order to determine what supplies need to be re-ordered.

Nice To Haves

• Approximately one to three months experience performing housekeeping tasks such as those that would be performed in the hotel/hospitality industry.
• High school diploma/GED.
