About The Position

The MCR standard is to provide clean, friendly, well-organized and safe hotels for our guests. The Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning and preparing guest rooms, hallways, and public areas in the hotel. This role involves ensuring happy guests through excellent guest relations, name use, and contributing to high guest satisfaction scores. Spotless cleanliness is a key focus, requiring sparkling clean workspaces and a team effort in cleaning guest rooms and public spaces. The position also emphasizes product consistency and quality through accurate checklist completion and timely shift handover reports. Teamwork is crucial, requiring clear, honest, and professional communication, a 'can-do' attitude, and collaboration to create a welcoming environment for guests and a positive workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests happily upon arrival and throughout their stay with a smile.
  • Use the guests’ names whenever possible, ensuring they feel properly welcomed.
  • All Team Members work together to contribute to great guest satisfaction scores.
  • Ability to handle challenging guest situations with hospitality and a sense of urgency.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of all features of the hotel facility and amenities.
  • Be aware of and support for all groups and events at the hotel.
  • Understand relevant technology for each role.
  • Answer all incoming calls with friendly service using the approved greeting.
  • Keep all areas, both front and back of the house, clean and well-organized.
  • Pitch in to clean guest rooms and public spaces as needed, to ensure the hotel is well-organized and safe.
  • Always greet every guest happily with a smile, by name if possible, while cleaning.
  • Complete all operational checklists accurately and at the designated times, every shift.
  • Ensure handover reports are accurate and on time, for effective shift-to-shift communication.
  • Wear a clean, approved uniform and be well-groomed per the Team Member Handbook, while wearing a nametag and smiling at all times.
  • Ensure communication between Team Members is clear, honest, and professional.
  • Be willing to stretch beyond traditional role to meet the needs of the business and MCR’s guests.
  • Commit to working together to create a welcoming environment for guests and an effective, positive workplace.
  • Complete all pre-cleaning duties including, but not limited to, stocking room supplies and tools on assigned work cart, attending morning stand-up meeting, folding and/or assisting with any dirty linen in the housekeeping laundry room.
  • Thoroughly clean and restock the required number of guest rooms as assigned per shift.
  • Perform additional cleaning projects as assigned by direct supervisor, in storage rooms, public spaces, guest laundry, room deep cleaning activities, as needed.
  • Ensure all front and back of house areas are well-organized and clean.
  • Arrive and clock in on time for every shift worked and clock out at the scheduled shift ending time, unless otherwise directed by your immediate supervisor.
  • Never work while off the clock.
  • Clock in/out for breaks at the designated time on your schedule.
  • Provide sufficient notice as directed by your supervisor when calling out for a scheduled shift.
