About The Position

The Heritage Oaks Patient Enrichment Center, more commonly known as the ‘HOPE Center,’ is a newly constructed, state of the art, 16-bed, Psychiatric Health Facility, serving the acute psychiatric needs of the community in concert with the Sacramento County Department of Health and Human Services. Website: https://sacramentohopecenter.com/ The Housekeeper is responsible for daily janitorial and maintenance duties such as cleaning patient rooms, offices, and all facility areas, while ensuring a safe environment free of infectious disease. The housekeeper preforms various duties such as handling medical waste and other hazardous or infectious materials. This position also monitors the facility grounds, transports patient meals every other weekend or as needed and responds to all emergency situations. The staff member can be expected to work flexible shift hours and days based on the needs of the facility. Perform various and robust cleaning tasks of patients’ rooms, offices and public areas as assigned by supervisor. Order, restock and account for all equipment and items that fall under the supervision of housekeeping. Properly handle, dispose of and sanitize any blood, feces, bodily fluid or other potentially infectious waste and the areas surrounding.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
  • A minimum of two (2) years experience in janitorial, light maintenance and security/safety duties, preferably in a health care facility preferred.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Incumbent may be required to work variable shifts, overtime and flexible hours.
  • Completion of Handle with Care class within 30 days of employment and prior to participating in a code green is required.
  • CPR certification required.
