About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY: The Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, sanitizing, and the general appearance of their scheduled area. The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining all regulated housekeeping and Infection Control Standards. SCHEDULE: Full-time - 80 hrs per pay period; Tuesday-Saturday, 6am-2:30pm or Sunday-Thursday, 6am-2:30pm

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required
• Minimum of one year related work experience
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions and communicate in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
• Ability to make standard precaution decisions.
• Ability to address patients, visitors, and co-workers with courtesy, pleasantness and respect.

Responsibilities

• Performs adequate and thorough disinfecting and sanitizing procedures of all horizontal surfaces.
• Removes/prevents build up on the floors and around the perimeters.
• Removes biohazard and general garbage from rooms/areas according to policy.
• Performs adequate bathroom cleaning and sanitation requirements.
• Performs unit discharge cleaning appropriately and in a timely manner.
• Removes visible debris from carpeted areas when necessary.
• Maintains communication with supervisor for area and/or departmental needs or concerns.
• Uses personal protective equipment as necessary.
• Follows established room-cleaning guidelines for all areas.
