About The Position

The Assisted Living Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment for residents. This role ensures that resident apartments, common areas, and facility spaces are clean, sanitized, and welcoming. The Housekeeper supports the overall well-being, dignity, and satisfaction of residents by providing high-quality housekeeping services with professionalism and compassion.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred but not required)
  • Previous housekeeping experience preferred; experience in healthcare or senior living is preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Good time-management and organization skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Compassionate attitude toward working with older adults
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to bend, kneel, reach, and climb short ladders
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to [Insert weight - typically 25–40 lbs]
  • Ability to perform repetitive cleaning motions safely
  • Assisted living community with close interaction with residents and staff
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals (with provided safety training and PPE)
  • Fast-paced but supportive and team-oriented environment
  • Full-time, including potential weekends or holidays depending on facility needs

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Clean and maintain resident rooms, bathrooms, hallways, and community areas
  • Perform daily and weekly cleaning tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, polishing, and sanitizing surfaces
  • Change bed linens and make beds according to facility standards
  • Collect and launder resident clothing and facility linens as assigned
  • Properly handle, store, and label cleaning chemicals
  • Follow infection control and safety procedures at all times
  • Report maintenance needs, safety hazards, or unusual resident concerns immediately
  • Maintain housekeeping equipment in clean and safe operating condition
  • Respect resident privacy and personal belongings
  • Provide friendly, courteous service to residents, families, and staff
  • Assist with deep cleaning projects or special tasks as needed
