About The Position

High Point & Affiliated Organizations is a health and human service agency whose mission is to treat and prevent substance use disorders and mental illness. High Point has programs located throughout Southeastern Massachusetts offering a full continuum of care for substance use and mental health treatment, including inpatient, outpatient, residential, and community-based services. Programs and services also assist survivors of abuse, violence, and families experiencing homelessness. High Point believes that everyone has inherent goodness, worth, and dignity. Requirements

  • Must always present as courteous and professional
  • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to perform multiple tasks
  • Must have basic communication skills
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in English. This includes the ability to speak, read and understand English sufficiently to follow instructions, complete documentation, and ensure safe and effective performance of duties
  • Must have the ability to work with others in a cooperative and collaborative manner
  • A basic understanding of boundaries and ethics
  • Comply with Federal Regulations, 42 CFR Part 2, Confidentiality of Alcohol Abuse Policy and HIPAA Regulations
  • TB Screening
  • Certification in the HPAO approved de-escalation program
  • CPR Certification
  • Must be no less than 18 years of age

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ensures patient rooms, bathrooms, community areas, staff offices, group rooms, nursing stations, corridors, stairwells, etc., are clean, properly disinfected, sanitized, and free of odor at all times
  • Wet mops daily or as needed
  • Attend to spills immediately
  • Empty trash and clean containers
  • Clean floor edges and corners to prevent build-up
  • Clean windows, windowsills and other furnishings
  • Knowledge of chemical handling and Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
  • Knowledge of chemical ingredients, mixing dangers and proper storage
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety precautions
  • Knowledge of Infection Control Standards – Hand Washing, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Blood spill kits, etc.
  • General knowledge of proper cleaning procedures, disinfecting, etc.
  • Replaces soiled linen, as needed, in patient rooms
  • Handles all Bio-Hazard
  • Utilize standard precautions at all times
  • Demonstrates behaviors that recognize the rights of patients/clients as defined by the patient’s right
  • Coordinates with MHS/RS staff to maintain accurate linen and scrubs inventory
  • Attend all unit, facility meeting and supervisions as directed by Supervisor
  • Attend mandatory trainings
  • Other duties as assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor, Program Director, or COO.
