About The Position

We are currently accepting applications for a Housekeeper at the Samarcand Training Academy. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with state benefits including retirement, health insurance, vacation leave, sick leave, and paid holidays. The position is located in the Samarcand Training Academy in Moore County, NC. Work performed in this position includes physically strenuous activities such as moving furniture, operating heavy cleaning equipment, and delivering large quantities of housekeeping supplies. The primary purpose of this position is to perform housekeeping duties in an assigned area of the Samarcand Training Academy.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of established cleaning procedures and techniques
• Working knowledge of purpose and application of products and equipment used in a cleaning operation
• Working knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service

Nice To Haves

• Housekeeping experience in an overnight residential facility
• Working knowledge of stripping floors, waxing floors, buffing floors, and operating heavy cleaning equipment

Responsibilities

• Cleaning ceilings, vents, and walls
• Polishing furniture
• Wet mopping hard surface floors
• Maintaining floors including stripping, waxing, and buffing
• Shampooing carpets
• Washing windows, screens, and blinds
• Cleaning and changing soiled or worn linen, pillows, and bed covers
• Replenishing restrooms with towels, toilet paper, and soap
• Cleaning lavatories, commodes, urinals, mirrors, showers, and tubs
• Dusting, mopping, and vacuuming
