About The Position

Under direct supervision of the Community Manager, the Housekeeper/Porter is responsible for cleaning apartment homes upon move out to 'move in' standards and for maintaining the cleanliness and attractiveness of the common areas of the assigned property. Previous housekeeping in multi-family, mid-rise apartment buildings with large common areas or hotel industry experience preferred. As Porter, this position is also responsible for maintaining the community grounds in an attractive condition in accordance with Royal American Management's Policies and Procedures. Must be organized, detail oriented, can multi-task and able to work Monday - Friday. Incumbent is expected to have excellent attendance and communication skills, possess the ability to build lasting business relationships, and exhibit professionalism.

Requirements

• Read, write, and speak in English
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or verbal instruction
• Work under time constraints
• Limited computer literacy
• Must have a government issued state ID, or valid driver’s license if required by Management based on location/property or business needs
• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
• Prior experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Practice OSHA standards and company safety policy and stay aware of work-safety requirements
• Continue education of safety training as required by company and/or State and Federal Law
• Complete a hazard assessment form before beginning any task
• Assist other team members when necessary
• Clean all common areas not less than one time per day
• Clean and monitor restrooms for cleanliness and inventory of necessities not less than two times per day
• Care, maintenance, and inventory of any and all equipment utilized to properly complete job duties
• Frequent verbal and written communication with supervisor
• Report unusual or extraordinary circumstances regarding the property, co-workers, or residents
• Maintain the required property uniform and ensuring a professional appearance and attitude at all times
• Water any and all potted plants in community common areas daily
• May be required to water lawn, shrubs and flowers, mow, trim, fertilize and rake lawns, trim shrubs, plants and small trees, tend to flowers and pull weeds, and spray insecticides
• May be required to paint exterior of buildings, pick up litter/trash on grounds daily, clean and maintain exterior light fixtures and replace light bulbs
• Participate in a standby emergency schedule for evening, weekend and holiday coverage
• Assist in custodial work, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, emptying trash and pet stations, cleaning windows, etc., in the common areas
