About The Position

Organization Summary Statement: The Department of Residential Facilities is responsible for the maintenance and housekeeping services for the College Park Campus' 70+ residence halls, Greek chapter houses, and recreational facilities encompassing over 2.7 million square feet. The department employs over 300 exempt, non-exempt, and student staff. General Responsibilities: The Housekeeper Lead position provides housekeeping services and assists in coordinating and administering a housekeeping team in an assigned area. The Housekeeper Lead maintains the highest standards of cleanliness, appearance, healthfulness, and safety possible to enable the purposes, safety, and comfort of the people and the places we serve. This day-shift Housekeeper Lead position is a Monday through Friday role with operational hours from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Physical Demands: PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The incumbent may be required to work from ladders or scaffolding; to work in, on, around, over, and under fixed equipment and machinery; to manipulate heavy equipment, tools, and supplies and/or exert force up to 50 lbs. The incumbent is to work in hazardous or irritating environments, and adverse weather or temperature conditions; to wear and work in personal protective equipment, and work on a ladder up to 8 feet in height. Work will involve repetitive motion. The incumbent will be required to inspect work, which may involve bending, stooping, walking, and climbing. Preference: N/A License/Certification: N/A Minimum Qualifications EDUCATION: EXPERIENCE: One year housekeeping experience. OTHER: REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: Skill in the use and maintenance of housekeeping tools and equipment. Ability to read, write, and perform arithmetic calculations; to operate assigned tools and housekeeping equipment; to work with chemicals and cleaning solutions; to understand and follow directions; to lift and transport supplies and refuse; to wear and work in personal protective equipment; to provide guidance and training to others. OTHER: Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.
