About The Position

Southern Foodservice Management is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant to join our team at the U.S. Coast Guard Aviation Training Center (ATC) in Mobile, Alabama. ATC plays a vital role in a variety of Coast Guard missions, including search and rescue operations, law enforcement, and advanced pilot training and certification. Hourly Wage: $17.75/hour + $4.93/hour Health & Welfare The Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant must be available to work Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM Weekends and Holidays hours from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Weekend and holiday shifts occur every third weekend and every third holiday, with a typical weekly schedule of 35–40 hours. Pre-employment drug screening and background check are required. We are seeking a reliable team member who is punctual, professional, and committed to maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Prior janitorial experience (especially in dining facilities) is a plus
  • Strong time management and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to operate industrial cleaning equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
  • Able to work independently and manage time under pressure
  • Physically capable of lifting/moving up to 50 pounds
  • Must have a valid ID for base access
  • Reliable with flexible scheduling availability

Responsibilities

  • Cleaning guest rooms, lobbies, stairways, and lounges as well as corridors
  • Distribute linen, towels and room supplies using wheeled carts or by hand
  • Restock room supplies such as drinking glasses, soaps, shampoos
  • Replace dirty linens with clean items
  • Store all dirty laundry in line with company policy
  • Clean and check all appliances in rooms are in working order
  • Realign furniture and amenities according to prescribed layout
  • Respond to guest queries and requests
  • Deliver any requested housekeeping items to guest rooms
  • Organize and restock cart at the end of the shift
  • Ensure confidentiality and security of guest rooms
  • Follow all company safety and security procedures
  • Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards
  • Observe and report damage of USCG property
  • Help with Laundry as needed
  • Wash and dry laundry from galley and rooms
  • Fold and organize laundry
  • Check your assigned key back in
  • Follow cleaning charts and complete daily and weekly cleaning
  • Perform other duties as assigned or directed.
  • Comply with the company’s safety standards and dress code always.
  • Set a good example for all personnel through appearance in uniform and work ethic.
