About The Position

As a Housekeeper II at Oriental Trading Company, you will assist the Housekeeping Supervisor in managing housekeeping personnel and ensuring the cleanliness of the facility. This role involves performing various cleaning tasks, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety standards, all while providing excellent service and communication with staff and supervisors.

Requirements

• Knowledge of cleaning equipment, chemicals, and supplies.
• Understanding of cleaning and safety procedures and OSHA requirements.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing environments.
• High School diploma or equivalent education and experience.
• One year of housekeeping experience preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Physical ability to walk, stand, push, squat, bend, and climb stairs for the duration of the shift.
• Ability to frequently lift and carry 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Lead housekeeping staff by assigning work areas and monitoring performance.
• Complete personal housekeeping responsibilities and assist with overall crew assignments as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of office, warehouse, and common areas, including vacuuming, mopping, and cleaning surfaces.
• Ensure all cleaning equipment is properly maintained and stored.
• Perform minor repairs and coordinate major repairs with the Housekeeping Supervisor.
• Conduct informal spot checks to maintain staff quality control.
• Ensure supply closets are stocked and organized.
• Report personnel issues to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
• Maintain compliance with OSHA guidelines for a safe work environment.
• Provide efficient and courteous service while protecting confidential customer information.
• Communicate with maintenance personnel regarding facility deficiencies.
• Report any personal injury or property damage immediately.
• Act as a troubleshooter during emergencies and assist other departments as required.
