About The Position

Day Kimball Health is hiring for a per diem Housekeeper II to join our Environmental Services department in Putnam, CT! Hours: Per Diem, as needed Shift: Varies Weekends: Yes, every other Per Diem Hours Requirement: Per diem employees are required to work a minimum of 32 hours per month. Housekeeper II Job Summary: According to established procedures cleans and services building areas. Moves furniture, equipment, and supplies, in and around hospital departments, and performs a variety of environmental services duties to maintain the hospital in a neat, orderly, and sanitary condition. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Prior experience performing cleaning operations in a hospital, industrial or office setting, with minimum three months training preferred.
  • Ability to operate cleaning devices, i.e., automatic floor equipment, buffers, commercial vacuums, mops and wringers, and other necessary tools, products and supplies.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position.

Responsibilities

  • Project work on floors using automatic floor equipment.
  • Total patient room cleaning following established procedures.
  • Moves equipment and furniture for relocation of offices, for cleaning and rearrangement.
  • Trash removal and recycling. May collect hazardous/medical waste.
  • Clean entrances and parking lot of debris and trash.
  • Provides on-call coverage for weekends and holidays as scheduled.
  • Responds to emergency codes.
