About The Position

The position at Sutter Health involves performing a variety of general and specialized housekeeping duties at Eden Medical Center and Laurel Grove Hospital. The role incorporates the Department's 8 step Cleaning Procedures along with other Medical Center Department procedures to ensure a clean, safe, and sanitary environment throughout all patient, public, and staff areas. This includes cleaning restricted/isolation rooms and special care units such as Neonatal, Infant, Pediatric, Adult, and Geriatrics.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent education/experience.
• Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written English instructions.
• 1-year previous hospital housekeeping experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follows established Medical Center-Hospital Wide Policies and Procedures, including the Illness and Injury Prevention Program, Safety, Infection Control Policies and Procedures.
• Demonstrates proficiency in Skills Assessment criteria.
• Gathers, transports, and removes trash, soiled linen, infectious waste, and other items from assigned areas to central collection sites.
• Dusts and wet cleans furniture, beds, tables, and other surfaces with approved germicidal solutions.
• Dusts mops and wet mops hard surface floors in various hospital areas.
• Operates mechanical equipment including vacuums, floor scrubbers, and carpet extractors.
• Performs terminal cleaning procedures of various patient and treatment rooms.
• Cleans fixtures, tops of windows, doorframes, and vents, utilizing a ladder if necessary.
• Moves and relocates furniture and equipment throughout the facility.
• Maintains required records, reports, logs, and statistics as directed.
• Participates in educational programs and departmental committees.
• Responds to emergency codes as needed.
