As a Housekeeper (or Custodian) in this medical center, you play a crucial role in creating a safe, welcoming space conducive to healing and comfort, thereby supporting residents' dignity, well-being, and recovery every day.
Requirements
- At least 1 year similar experience in a medical / healthcare facility or commercial cleaning setting (strongly preferred)
- Must be 18 years of age or older AND hold a High school diploma or GED
- Basic computer skills
- Understanding of Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) safety and sanitation rules
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Ability to regularly push, pull, move and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds, and pass a pre-employment physical and background check. This position will require extended periods of walking and standing to perform duties
Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain resident rooms and common areas
- Empty trash, clean bathrooms, wash windows, and care for floors
- Vacuum, sanitize, and prepare rooms for new residents
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment throughout the building
